COLD IN BERLIN Launch their new album:
As heavy as it is haunting, the record masterfully blends doom, post-punk, and driving krautrock in a dynamic, hypnotic maelstrom – pushing the band into intoxicating new territory.

First single Hangman’s Daughter leads the charge. Opening with a hypnotic techno bassline, the song quickly gives way to post-punk guitars, huge choruses, and vocalist Maya’s magnetic storytelling.

Synths on the album are arranged by Berlin-based Bow Church, an influential figure in the dark electronic scene and a longtime collaborator of the band. His work weaves icy and atmospheric textures into the songs, layering complexity that demands repeat listens. The synth led track They Reign captures the band nestled comfortably between Kate Bush and Neu!

While meticulously crafted, Wounds captures the visceral energy of Cold in Berlin’s renowned live shows. The album’s arrangements and raucous sound remain true to the unrelenting intensity and atmosphere of their stage performances – every track retains the sweat, urgency, and immediacy of a band performing in the moment.

Featuring free-jazz brass sections on the audacious punk rock track 12 Crosses, off-beat structures in the blackened I Will Wait, and the poetic closer Wicked Wounds, and soaring synths on the electro doom of The Stranger, Wounds is the band's most ambitious release yet.

COLD IN BERLIN emerged from East London’s gothic underground in 2010, evolving into one of the UK’s most revered live acts. Blending dark post-punk, doom, and krautrock with Maya’s fierce, commanding vocals, their sound balances raw power with haunting beauty.

Debut album Give Me Walls (2010) made waves with Artrocker Album of the Year, followed by acclaimed releases on Candlelight Records and New Heavy Sounds. By 2019’s Rituals of Surrender, they had fully embraced a heavier post-metal identity, earning critical acclaim and a place in the British Library Sound Archive. After a period of reinvention, 2024’s The Body is the Wound EP introduced mechanical rhythms and synth textures, hailed as their finest work yet. Now, with their most ambitious album Wounds, Cold in Berlin expand their sound further—bringing in synths, free-jazz brass, and off- kilter rhythms.

NAUT are a four piece drum machine rock band from Bristol, whose shared love of classic rock and metal, alongside reverence for the post-punk pioneers of the late 70s and early 80s makes itself known from the start. Triumphant synths and scything guitars entwine with danceable beats, while driving bass-lines, moving to pounding drums, create a dynamic and shifting rhythm section. The tracks pulse with a raw post-punk energy but always remain danceable and (perhaps most dangerously) catchy. The lyrics touch on mental paralysis, impending doom and divided peoples, and with the path our world is currently on they have become more relevant than ever.

Despite the inevitable shutdown caused by the pandemicNAUTremained active below the surface, ‘Threads’ and ‘Hand in Hand’ were released as a double A side 7” in June 2020. With this releaseNAUTfurther gained the attention of fans from across the spectrum of dark music. Word spread further around the scene adding fans to the ever growing following, with Hand in Hand featured in Kerrang! Magazine’s Kerrang! Rock Chart and a number of other high profile goth and post-punk playlists and the music video, creatively produced under the restrictions of a strict lockdown, garnering a strong reception.

Not content with releasing these new songs, work on a debut album was also underway. Over the long months of restrictions and lockdownsNAUTcrafted the demos for their debut album, making the most of the dormant state of the music world, something special was being fashioned. The turmoil of 2020 also opened other opportunities andNAUT struck a partnership with Doomstar booking agency, ready for whenever the venues open.

NowNAUTare excited to have signed with Seasons of Mist for the release of their debut album. The label has come to represent all shades of musical darkness and feels like a strong pairing forNAUT,as although the band are less extreme in their musical approach, dark music in all its facets underlies all that they do.

NAUTcan’t wait to share this upcoming slab of infectious and pulsing drum machine rock with you all.

After emerging from their crypt deep in the Manchester catacombs in 2021, MOTH SLUT quickly gained a devoted and cult-like following. Tearing through the DIY scene with their dramatic visuals, high-energy performances and delicious blend of gothic tones, they've quickly become one of the most exciting new acts in the UK. Taking inspiration from classical goth icons like The Sisters of Mercy and Clan of Xymox as well as modern players such as Damien Hearse and This Cold Night, the duo cloak it in vampiric theatricality and thrust it in your face.
