Sunday, June 22, 20:00breathe. is a duo based in Sydney, Australia, comprising best friends Sean Walker (Movement) and Andrew Grant (La Mer, Tapes) and is a blurry, aching take on late night soul music. The debut EP “breathe.” was released on their label SILK with a sold out limited edition 1,000 copy vinyl pressing and photography zine, and their three EP’s have more than 100m streams across Spotify, Apple and Youtube.
The breathe. world includes an extensive crew of collaborators and contributors including guitarist Lachlan Bostock (Mansionair), drummer Ulrich Leffner (Cloud Control), singers Dylan Wright, Jack Froggat (Mansionair) and Jaden Parks (Leisure), singer/producers Parisa Tosif and David Ansari (Vallis Alps), mixer Stephen Sedgwick (Gorillaz, Bobby Womack), mastering engineer Matt Colton (Arctic Monkeys, Dua Lipa) and others.

With their raw, emotive and cinematic sound, the duo creates downtempo music that effortlessly communicates vivid and deep feelings. breathe.’s dark downtempo sound consists of exposed drums, prominent bass and smooth vocals, curating a seamless blend of soul and electronica. The band has focused on collaboration to create and have subsequently worked with musicians/vocalists in London, Toronto and New York. breathe. subtly combine the production qualities of Massive Attack, Jamie xx and Shlohmo with the atmospheric ambiance of Grouper and Four Tet. All of breathe.’s music has been released through the label ‘Silk Recordings’ and has been accompanied by self-directed music clips.
