Alias

Saturday, October 26, 20:00

With the creation of their second studio album, ALIAS presents a shimmering portrait of their work on stage. Between stroboscopic psych rock and vintage guitar lines, they suddenly dive into themes with multiple reflections, captivating vibrations drawing from various genres to blend them together. It is within this creative halo that Emmanuel Alias (guitar, vocals), Jean-Baptiste Beltra (keyboard, guitar), Vincent Bénézet (bass), and Simon Bilodeau (drums) explore the moods of ALIAS, an extravagant alter ego that blends seamlessly into the crowd. The (almost) unsettling atmosphere — anything but sanitized — navigates through calculated fervor, the precision of improvisation, and a flamboyant performance where references clash

Raised in the picturesque town of Aix-en-provence in south France, ALIAS studied jazz at prestigious conservatoires in both Marseille and his hometown. But growing disillusioned with the strict rules being placed upon him, he decided to step out on his own, first to New York, then to Montreal, Canada, where he was enlisted as a contributor for hit TV shows including Big Little Lies and Sharp Objects, and worked as music director for Cirque du Soleil.
