Swedish singer-songwriter Amanda Bergman has long been one of the most captivating voices in Scandinavian music. Her warm, raspy tone and disarming honesty have resonated across borders for over a decade. What began as an experiment in anonymity under the monikers Hajen and Idiot Wind evolved into her central role as the lead singer of the beloved supergroup Amason.

Bergman’s solo debut, Docks (2016), cemented her reputation as one of Sweden’s most distinct songwriters. Since then, she has continued to balance artistry and introspection; recording and touring with Amason, founding the venue Rockbonden, and building a life and studio on her farm in rural Sweden, where she lives and works with her long-time creative partner and husband Petter Winnberg.

In 2024, after years marked by personal struggle, motherhood, and creative reawakening, Bergman returned with her celebrated sophomore album ‘Your Hand Forever Checking On My Fever’, earning not one, but two Swedish Grammy’s.

Now, in 2025, she’s back with her most ambitious and existential work yet: ‘embraced for a second as we die’. Written between late 2024 and early 2025, the album acts as a map through chaos and contemplation, exploring the fleeting beauty of being alive at a time when the world feels on the brink.

Bergman describes it as “a record about collapse and acceptance, about finding faith in the act of making art when control is gone.”, recorded largely live at Stockholm’s Atlantis Metronome Studios (the legendary ABBA studio).
