Woahnows, Katie Ellen
Wednesday, March 20, 19:30
With the looming release of 'Dipping Out' out via Specialist Subject, Woahnows return to the Lexington to show off some new snappy material they’ve been busy working on. With an exultant smile, the Plymouth-trios vibrant pop hooks recall the cleverness of The Sidekicks or the late Sundials. Don’t you be missing out now.
Katie Ellen (NYC/Philidelphia)
When Fest-staple Chumped announced they’d be taken a leave of indefinite haitus in 2015 there was, rumour has it, small informal bet going around that it wouldn't be long before someone did something else. Let it be born, Katie Ellen — the new band by members Anika Pyle and Dan Frelly, (note: no-one in this band goes by the name Katie). The rest is history. Stripping out the former pop-punk trademarks, Pyle’s songwriting ruminates in the brain, and while on reflection they exist to tell about the angst of growing old and the days of punk yonder, they’re just as bit fun, like the glory of Chumped you once knew.
