John Howard
http://kidinabigworld.co.uk/
John Howard is an English singer-songwriter, pianist and recording artist. With his February 1975 debut album Kid in a Big World (CBS Records), Howard emerged as a late voice of the glam-pop wave of the early 1970s. The album was recently re-released on LP by Spanish label, You Are The Cosmos, and as a companion piece, the label compiled a second LP The Hidden Beauty, which features some of his demos, singles and outtakes from the 1970s, many of the tracks never released in physical form before. Across a musical career that has included two main periods of recording activity – 1974-84 and 2004–present – Howard has released 16 studio albums and 11 studio EPs. According to Metacritic, his 2015-released album John Howard & The Night Mall, on Tapete Records, was amongst the Top 20 Best Reviewed Albums of 2015! Max Bell, Uncut said it was “Way beyond fashion, yet uncommonly chic.” In March 2018, he became a published author, when his first autobiography, Incidents Crowded With Life, covering his childhood up to 1976, was published by Fisher King Publishing.
“A British Jimmy Webb” Uncut
“A glorious reminder of a time when pop music was extravagantly effeminate. A cross between Flanders and Swann and Momus” The Guardian
“Howard sounds like a man half his age, his theatrical delivery calling to mind a posh early Bowie, or Gilbert O’Sullivan’s astute, sardonic younger brother” Record Collector

Vinny Peculiar

Vinny Peculiar grew up in Worcestershire and trained as a nurse before signing to Manchester cult label Ugly Man Records (former home to Elbow). He's since put out twelve albums of literate autobiographical pop music over a twenty-year career touring band, solo and duo shows. Variously described as "an under sung national treasure" (Uncut Magazine), "a warm hearted Morrissey" Q Magazine and "the missing link between Jarvis Cocker and Roger McGough" Irish Times. Past work associations include Bill Drummond (KLF), Luke Haines and Jah Wobble (PIL) and his various bands have included ex members of The Smiths, Oasis, Aztec Camera and The Fall. His 'concept' album Silver Meadows, set in a 1980s long-stay psychiatric hospital, is in development as a musical stage play. Worcestershire themed new album, Return of the Native was released on 1 June 2018.

Simon Love

Sincerely, S.Love x (the kiss is meant to be pronounced) is Simon's sophomore solo album (his 2015 debut It Seemed Like A Good Idea At The Time was released on the brilliant, now sadly defunct Fortuna Pop label), and it features ten hits; proper hits, with ELO harmonies, Spectoresque production, strings and trumpets, the whole shebang. All of it was recorded over the last two years in London, England, and the reviews have been excellent: "Unaffected horn-filled pop with witty lyrics that get straight to the point" Uncut Magazine; "Pop tunes that nuzzle up to Belle & Sebastian and the Velvet Underground" Q Magazine; "A massive charm attack that leaves tears in your eyes" Rolling Stone Magazine; "Swooning bubblegum pop"Shindig Magazine; "The DH Lawrence of 21st Century Affection" Record Collector.

Rogers & Butler

Edward Rogers and Stephen Butler are both Zip Records artists. They bonded over a mutual love and respect for British singer-songwriter, Duncan Browne. Over the past few years, they've written several songs together, resulting in the duo’s debut EP, Diana Dors, which will be released on Zip Records in early 2019. Rogers is a British-born, NYC-based singer/songwriter with seven solo albums. His most recent release, TV Generation, pairs his authentic and reflective lyricism with his powerful melodic voice “As much as he reminds me of Kevin Ayers, there is also plenty of Ray Davies and perhaps a bit of Bill Fay. Rogers’ songwriting skills are easily and fairly compared to these fine songwriters.” DC Live. Edward has played in the US, Europe and the UK several times. He has been invited to open for several artists such as Colin Blunstone of The Zombies, Dave Davies of The Kinks, The Zombies, Ian Hunter and Terry Reid and has also performed many solo shows. Most recently, he was on a U.S. tour with Marty Willson-Piper (The Church, All About Eve, The Saints). Butler is an American singer-songwriter and along with his brother Brian, one of the founding members of Smash Palace. The group’s 12th CD, Right As Rain, was designed to be your soundtrack for the summer of 2018. Butler does what he does best… 60′s jangle rock, 70′s rock swagger, 80′s power pop, 90′s Brit rock all rolled into a contemporary style that’s all his own. It’s like listening to songs you know but haven’t heard before. “a swath of British Invasion verve, an effortless blend moving with a catchy rock swagger that’s infectious enough to require Cipro.” Philadelphia Weekly. Stephen Butler was first discovered by Hilly Kristal at CBGB’s then signed to Columbia Records, as a member of Quincy. His band, Smash Palace, was later signed to Epic Records. He was rediscovered by Zip Records' label president Arthur Herman after playing a show at the Cavern Club in Liverpool, 2005.
