You can’t help but be moved by the scenes dominating our TV screens in the last week, not just the magnitude of the loss of life in every sense of the word nor the fact that Grenfall ranks as one of the worst (entirely preventable) disasters to ever befall our city, but there is also a sense of awe for the heroic men and women selflessly ignoring their own guidelines and putting their lives on the line in an attempt to rescue as many people as possible from the seemingly hopeless inferno.

It is with that in mind that we have offered London’s fire services a meal and a pint on us and the lovely people from GoneBurger as a small gesture of thanks.

Obviously we’d love to be able to extend this offer to other services who have gone above and beyond but it’s just not practical as an independent local business.
